Mickey Oros’ Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Present – Resurrected in 2020. Fuel Cell Infrastructure, LLC., NC-based. Re-establishing itself as an innovative company focused on deployment, installation, and delivery of hydrogen fuel cells, fueling infrastructure, and storage. Including advancement in economical cost-effective solutions of the transport of hydrogen to its point-of-use. As a Subject Material Expert (SME) he carries along with it:

  • Over 20 years of hands-on experience worldwide, developing and building the groundwork for the fueling infrastructure needed in the future’s hydrogen-based economy.

  • An expert in Codes and Standards related to hydrogen.

  • Extremely knowledgeable background in HEMP and TEMPEST applications, using hydrogen fuel cell-based design as its electrical power source.

  • Holds classified government "security clearance" credentials.

  • A clear understanding of building and developing a cost-effective, zero-emission hydrogen fueling concept for non-attainment cities, and high-security applications.

For 18 years, Instrumental in the development of Altergy Systems, a CA-based group, implementing the Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell architecture for stationary mission-critical applications. As an early adopter, Altergy has many firsts such as the first automated fuel cell assembly line.

  • Came on board as a founding member and retired as Sr. VP of Deployment and Field Service.

  • Under the position of Business Development, Oros traveled the world lobbying for a hydrogen economy and fuel cells, presenting to policymakers, legislators, educators, and community members the knowledge of moving forward in developing an environmentally friendly industry, not yet envisioned. Established strong relationships with numerous major global corporations and participated in speaking engagements with universities, government agencies, and various industry events throughout the globe.

  • Held board positions, chaired and participated in various industry codes and standards committees, including numerous events keyed to Fuel Cells and the Hydrogen Economy.

  • Influential in the contracting, design, and development of products for major corporations globally.

  • Instrumental in developing a highly unique infrastructure system for hydrogen fuel cell-based electrical backup systems.

2000 brought with it: Fuel Cell Infrastructure, Inc., a CA-based innovative company focused on hydrogen storage and fueling. This transition took place when the CA Air Resources Board (CARB) changed its direction from EV’s to the advent of the hydrogen economy.

  • Selling off EVI, Oros quickly transitioned his pursuit into the world of hydrogen and fuel cells.

  • Soon after starting FCI, in 2002, he put a hold on it to pursue an invitation to join Altergy Systems, a team developing a state-of-the-art stationary PEM fuel cell.

The ‘90s: The creation of Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, Inc. (EVI), a CA-based firm dedicated to developing and manufacturing charging stations for the Electric Vehicle (EVs) world. With the 1990’s Clean Air Act and California’s mandate for zero-emission passenger vehicles, he became a leader in conductive charging systems for battery-operated EVs. During his tenure, he successfully developed and marketed today’s primary technology standard for EV charging systems worldwide.

  • As the founder and pioneer, Oros’ firm was the first of many in today’s world and its largest producer of EV charging stations, at the time. EVI installed thousands of stations worldwide under his tenure. Oros moved into Hydrogen Fuel Cells and EVI went on to become ClipperCreek, a well-known manufacturer of charging systems.

  • Instrumental in developing the National Electric Code, Article 625 - Electric Vehicle Charging Systems, and sat on other various safety standards committees.

  • First to market supplying Ford, Honda, Toyota, Daimler, Chrysler, and others in today’s marketplace.

  • Developed a significant distribution chain with partners such as Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), Southern California Edison, Southern Companies, Hydro-Quebec, Virginia Power, Florida Power & Light, among others.

The 70’s: Were spent in the construction industry with curiosity on how to build solutions.

  • 1975 - Colorado-based – 18 years –- Owned and operated a mechanical contracting business that employed as many as 150 construction-related jobs, such as pipefitters, plumbers, sheet metal workers, equipment operators, management, engineering, estimation, and clerical teams. His goal then as it is now, is based around environmental commitments in protecting the globe from pollution and toxic waste. With a diverse management background, mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of electrical systems, Oros has an understanding of how business works. Among others, his accomplishments include:

    • Heavy Metal Treatment Plants – Contracts in building heavy-metal treatment plants designed to clean highly toxic and polluted creeks and streams caused by mining throughout the Rockies – one of his firm commitments to cleaning miner’s waste.

    • Snow Making – A pioneer in the installation of snowmaking equipment throughout the Rocky Mountain region, helping mother nature bring moisture to the hillside and enjoyment to a skiers’ delight

  • Higher Education: Seeking a mechanical engineering degree, chose to move on to pursue his business endeavors, launching his appetite for discovery.

  • 1968 - Illinois based – Served a 5-year pipefitter apprenticeship under the guidance of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States, Canada (UA). The key to this later in life gave him a full understanding of the complexity and needs in building the hydrogen infrastructure.
